Dental Packaging

Within the medical industry, and that includes dentistry, dental equipment often requires specialized packaging to retain sterilization. Many dental offices are equipped for this, but this particular project required a consumer-friendly package for a line of teeth whitening products. The focus was on a compartmentalized tray for multiple components.

The Challenge

Indepak was assigned the task to design a tray with three primary goals.

The thermoformed tray was to serve as a storage container, easily identifying each item in the kit.
The plastic medical tray required each item to remain securely in place, particularly during shipment.
The thermoformed packaging tray had to present the components while upholding the company’s professional brand.

The Solution

The Indepak Engineering Design team began by creating friction fit cavities for each component in the kit. In addition, the name of each component was embossed within the plastic thermoformed tray, allowing full clarity for the user.

The Result

The thermoformed packaging tray accomplished all three primary goals. Additionally, one of the kit components is a small clear tray, nicely arranged for a snug fit. Topping it off, the company’s brand is prominently displayed on the tray.
