Crunch Pak manufacturers healthy fruit, vegetable and protein snacks for retail sale.
The Challenge
Crunch Pak's highly automated packaging process which includes the feeding, filling and lidding of the custom thermoformed trays, was not operating efficiently. The thermoformed trays were constantly sticking to each other and not feeding properly. This caused downstream issues which required additional labor to solve. Crunch Pak needed a supplier that could design and produce trays that could de-nest properly.
The Solution
The Indepak team visited Crunch Pak's operation and evaluated the process to understand the causes of the tray feeding issues. Once complete, our team made several recommendations to alter both the design and process and Crunch Pak awarded us the business.
The Result
The design changes coupled with our high tolerance thermoformed packaging tray greatly increased throughput and reduced labor.
