But, what is a blister card? There are many types of blister packing, including full card blisters, face seal blisters and trap blisters. For some products, you also might opt for a clamshell and have it RF welded, stapled or heat-sealed.
With a full card blister, the card includes information about your product and the card and your product are encased in plastic that extends around the edges of the card. A custom cavity is created to hold and protect your product. With a face seal blister, the plastic typically ends near or at the edge of the card, using a bit less plastic. With a trap blister, a small piece of plastic is designed to fit around your product and that plastic is “trapped” between two pieces of die-cut paperboard or cardboard.

The type of blister card you choose will depend somewhat on the per-item cost of your product. For instance, a less expensive and lightweight item such as a disposable lighter probably would be perfect choice for a basic face seal blister.
If your product is a bit heavier or more expensive, you might opt for a full-face seal or full card blister or a trap blister as these packages are more tamper-resistant.
